NOTES

This book is often seen as the sister book to Ezra, despite the very different writing styples.  It also covers the period after the return from Babylonian exile.  Nehemiah had still been in exile as Artaxerxes' cup-bearer when he hears of the Jerusalem wall's horrible condition.  Inspired of the Spirit, he returns to execute it's renovation and point out shortcomings among the people.  This book is his account, the only book in the Old testament written in the first person.  It is one story, though not often included in classic Bible story editions.
